Thankful (Alpharetta Family Photography)

I've decided that one of the main reasons I enjoy photography is keeping in touch with some great people. I'm thankful to get the chance to see them and am surprised each time at how the kids have changed.

I'm pretty sure Olivia was just this little, but it was over two years ago already...

And here she is now!

The family had a great idea- taking advantage of the fall color and sending out Thanksgiving cards this year. It was so nice of them to travel out to me and I was glad the color was still great in my backyard.

And nothing says fall portrait like a couple of hay bales...

Mom and her boys!

Olivia was a little bit shy with the smiles, but sometimes 2 year olds can be like that :).

Two year olds are always happiest when you let them roam free!  I love the Keds.

2012-11-30_012Just to think, here were these little kids about 2.5 years ago.
The boys were so excited to have a baby sister...

And now they get to try to keep up with her (or keep her happy during a photo session :):

I'm sure the kids were thankful for the treats that followed, but they did a great job (and so did mom and dad!).

Partying at Poole's Mill

Oh how quickly they change!  Chase was just a newborn a blink of an eye ago- proof here!

I got to meet up with a favorite family at a very popular spot a little while ago for 18 month pics of Chase and his big brother Bryce.

If you're a photographer, I'm pretty sure I saw you at Poole's Mill Park with us- it was the grand central of photo locations that day in my neck of the woods- though completely gorgeous with a covered bridge, creek, etc.

When we first got there in the morning, Chase was willing to sit for a couple of seconds (with cracker bribes)- cute smile!

Then Bryce got in a few before Chase realized he was sitting:

Taking our turn on the bridge- it was almost like an assembly line with others waiting to take pictures and we had to get a little creative keeping Chase in one place.

Luckily, another photographer helped us out by standing behind me and distracting the kids so that they were still for a couple of seconds- I'm thinking one of my kids will be an assistant next time!

Covered Bridge graffiti makes for a fun backdrop for smiley Bryce

There was a lot of chasing Chase and dodging the other families at the park.

In case anyone needs to clue as to when a photo session should be over- it's when your family picture looks like this!

I'm looking foward to seeing everyone in the spring when we celebrate a couple more birthdays (and get more running around in!:).

Strike a Pose (Alpharetta Children's Photography)

I was so happy I was asked to take pictures of  three year old Mia in the beautiful dress she wore in a wedding. She loved her dress and was more than willing to strike a few poses showing it off!

2012-10-25_006

I love the thoughtful look in the black and white I caught in between the smiles...

2012-10-25_002

We found a corner in the back of their yard to set up a chair - a little harder to strike a pose when sitting, but she still worked it :).

2012-10-25_007

What's fun and challenging shooting outdoors is how the lighting can change, but when the sun started showing through the leaves, the natural background of their yard became even more beautiful.

She may quickly outgrow her dress, but I'm so glad her family will always have these images.

September Seven (Alpharetta Family Photography)

September is usually a bit of a crazy month for those starting back to school and trying to adjust to those early mornings and after-school commitments.  The entire month was a bit of a blur for me, but it's time I catch up a bit! :)

This family is one of the reasons why I love photography- meeting some great people (and burning those extra calories running after their kids- ok, maybe just the 3, 2, and 1 year olds. :).

We took the posed portraits when I first got there- a small miracle indeed- all the kids looking in my direction and a split second of the youngest sisters holding hands!

2012-10-21_003

I love the dad and daughters shots- it reminds me of how I wish I had more of my two sisters with my dad growing up.  I think this is when the candy bribes started...

2012-10-21_002

Now on to the little ones' favorite part of the day- bubbles and running around, because how long can you expect any kid to stay still and posed? (answer 2 milliseconds).  Check out the perfect bubble pop on this little guy's head!

2012-10-15_002

A quick break from the action for one family shot- notice the little ones' sippies/snacks made it in at this point as well:

2012-10-15_006

There were no bribes needed for these beautiful sisters.

2012-10-15_003

I loved how the big sisters were with their little sisters- so sweet!

2012-10-15_004

2012-10-15_005

Raisins and sippy, but they were all looking my way- yey!

Saying goodbye until next time!

Welcome Baby Walker! (Alpharetta Newborn Photography)

Introducing my newest muse, Walker! I have to say I'm a bit biased with this cutie- he's my sweet nephew!

He gave us a sly little smile right off the bat, then decided to hold out on those the rest of the time :).

2012-09-25_001

I just loved this little hat- and he did too by the looks of how comfy he was. Of course, it could be that he was snuggled on a warm, fuzzy blanket with a space heater blowing constantly.

The chillaxin' pose:

2012-09-25_004

As cute as that hat was, it was time to get some without it and show off that sizeable noggin!

2012-09-25_003

This little frog hat was a wee bit less popular. Gotta love that crabby face! :)

2012-09-25_005

Now onward to the neutral tones!   He was definitely chilled out here after a quick snack break.

2012-09-25_006-b

How great is this crocheted horse? What a sweet gift from his very talented great grandma!

2012-09-25_007

Sweet little details...

2012-09-25_008

Whatever you do, don't try to dress this little guy up in anything fancy- he's his daddy's son!

2012-09-25_009

The happy family... Walker, you got the fist down, now time to practice that rebel yell!

2012-09-25_010

I love you, sweet little guy, and I know soon you'll be as tired of Aunt Kim taking pictures of you as my own kids are! :)

Kissing (and hitting and biting...:) Cousins (Alpharetta Baby Photography)

When I was told these two cuties like to fight, I thought 'no way- these sweet 18 month old cousins?'  I witnessed their cuteness and feistiness in action!

First, it was time for a few sitting shots while Miss Fiona allowed it- I knew my time was limited before she was off and running..

2012-08-24_003

Gideon was a different story- he started off running and hardly stopped- what a busy boy!

2012-08-24_004

We did manage to focus his attention on some great 'props' around the family farm:

2012-08-24_005

2012-08-24_006

And now the daunting task- getting pictures of these two together!

2012-08-24_007

2012-08-24_008

I'm pretty sure a favorite song or two was poorly sung by me to help ensure at least a picture or two of them sitting together!

2012-08-24_009

Adorable- in between just a little bit of hitting and biting (conveniently not shown or captured :)

2012-08-24_010

Time for a little pool fun, just watch out for that blue weapon, I mean toy!

A little break to visit the horses in a nearby field...

What a sweet way to end the day..
